Thank you, Tammie Rula

In the summer of 2004, Tammie Rula responded to a request for someone with a human service background to assist with the sponsorship program. Her involvement with ONE Spirit since that time has been instrumental in nurturing the development and expansion of our programs on Pine Ridge. She has worked tirelessly with me on the sponsorship program, started Project SHARE on the reservation and willingly helped with all the other programs. In addition to her work with ONE Spirit, she maintains a full time job as an Adoption Services Supervisor with the Denver Department of Human Services and cares for her family. Tammie is able to see the humor in most situations and uses that ability to keep you laughing at life. This wonderful talent has kept us going through some difficult times.

Tammie has a close connection with the Lakota people. Fifteen years ago she adopted her daughter, Tianna. Tianna is deaf and through the years Tammie has supported her in maintaining close ties with her Lakota family and in knowing her culture and traditions. Tianna recently graduated from High School. The picture of her shown here was taken at her naming ceremony.
Due to health and family needs, Tammie has taken a break from working with ONE Spirit We look forward to the time when there is again room for ONE Spirit in her life. In the meantime, we send her a big "Thank You" for all she has done!
